I’m a bit press shy but I had an interview with Lily Gatins of Le Report
Check it out by clicking here: http://www.le-report.com/2012/12/melodie-jeng.html or the photo above.
It was a fun day. Thank you!
Side note, Kelly Mittendorf is selling her Prada heels. See her post here.

On the Subway II: Introducing Imi and Japanese Fashion
On the way home from work yesterday, I saw next to Imi. Imi is originally from Japan but moved to New York City when she was 22 (my age!) She was talking with her friend, they were so cute. Anyway, she was wearing this robe/dress that was so interested and I asked her about it! She used to work in fashion and owned a boutique in Soho in the 1980’s.
She got the piece (I guess it might be somewhat of a kimono) in Japan. Japanese fashion is very interested to me and much more forward than other fashion because they incorporate the traditional Kimono technique and ways of pleating so the fabrics last long. This technique was started by the amazing Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons. I don’t know much more about the technique but simply talking to people, seeing things, and feeling fabrics is the way I learn about fashion, art, cultures, and the world!
Thank you, Imi. I’m so glad I took the subway yesterday!
