Tim Hamilton Redux FW 12
First night of NYFW/MADE at Milk Studios on February 9
This was such a fun night at Milk Studios. There were several presentations going on simultaneously - Tim Hamilton Redux, Erickson Beamon, M. Patmos, John Bartlett, Libertine, etc. There was great energy on the 8th floor of Milk Studios - the models weren’t afraid to jump around, dance, and have fun with the presentation. There was music, drinks, and the presentation felt more like a fun party with beautiful and colorful people and clothes than a presentation which was a nice way to end the first night of fashion week (before the real parties …) There were also women in the presentation but I didn’t capture them as much. There wasn’t a huge difference in the menswear and womensear, they were the same idea just suited for each gender. I would love to wear everything at this presentation and now associate it with a lot of good feelings and fun! As far as I know, Tim usually shows his mainline and inserts some pieces from Redux (his lower-priced line) but this year, he showed only Redux.

I’m going to slowly try to ID all the models and add them into the post.

I recently visited the LINCS DC & CO show room in a beautiful townhouse on East 22nd Street.
Lincs was founded by David Chu, also known as the founder and designer of Nautica.
Chu founded Lincs after retiring from Nautica and found himself itching to work, design, and travel. Lincs is made for the modern man who is always on the go and needs clothing that he can hop off the plane straight to the golf course or go sailing without sacrificing quality and comfort.
The Spring/Summer 2012 collection is based on Ho Hum Beach in Bellport, Long Island. I got to see bits of the Fall 2012 collection and the location its based on which I’m very excited about as well! The S/S 2012 collection features classic pieces like polos, shirts, khakis and layered sweaters and jackets. What is unique to me is the use of traveller’s twill and a slight 2% stretch material in the clothing which helps each piece retain its shape and emphasizes the adaptable aspect of the brand and lifestyle. In addition, Lincs continues to utilizes its signature cool cotton ice tee finishing in their polos.
I really liked the use of florals in the shirts. Florals are the trend everywhere in womensear but it is hard to translate into menswear without being flamboyant. The floral pattern reminded me of the preppy aspect of Lincs and made me think of a Lincs man as confident and masculine but unafraid to add a little flair to his wardrobe. I was also really interested in the light gray cotton (jersey?) jacket in the fourth image - this piece takes the comfort of a sweatshirt and transforms it into a more formal, silhouetted, yet still comfortable piece of outwear. Also, I was intrigued by the buttons and button tabs in image 5 - I’m not sure if they are actually used, I think they reference back in time when shirts needed multiple layers and collars for warmth while enjoying the outdoors.
The service at the show room was excellent and I learned a lot about the details of a collection and process from an idea to material sourcing to testing to samples to sales to the stores, etc.
The current Linc’s campaign was shot by Daniel King, styled by Bruce Pask, and features model Chris Brown.

Conchi on Broadway above Union Square
This is from a little while ago. It got very warm in New York right after and now it is cold again.
Conchi was visiting from Spain and her mother made her coat. I’m not sure, I think that print is Paisley? Anyway, I like how subtle it is and that her mother made it!
Neysha on Bond Street
Wearing a mixture of her friend’s Brixton hat, Top Shop men’s chinos, Top Shop boutique leather jacket, thrifted boots, ebay shirt, etc. She works at Topshop and mixed in pieces from the men and women’s section with thrift and ebay pieces! Comfortable but a little bit bada*s : )
