Here’s an old (rough) GIF I made a while ago of Daphne Groenveld after Marc by Marc Jacobs FW12 giving a random photographer a random first pound … bump ??? He initiated because I guess it’s nice after all the show craziness. She’s not punching him haha. Nice girl. It’s hard to get good shots of girls after Marc by Marc so I guess I had a moment where I just snapped snapped snapped …

Here are some snapshots from NYFW F/W 2012 that I originally shot for City Magazine. I start shooting S/S 2013 tomorrow!

Tim Hamilton Redux FW 12

First night of NYFW/MADE at Milk Studios on February 9

This was such a fun night at Milk Studios. There were several presentations going on simultaneously - Tim Hamilton Redux, Erickson Beamon, M. Patmos, John Bartlett, Libertine, etc. There was great energy on the 8th floor of Milk Studios - the models weren’t afraid to jump around, dance, and have fun with the presentation. There was music, drinks, and the presentation felt more like a fun party with beautiful and colorful people and clothes than a presentation which was a nice way to end the first night of fashion week (before the real parties …) There were also women in the presentation but I didn’t capture them as much. There wasn’t a huge difference in the menswear and womensear, they were the same idea just suited for each gender. I would love to wear everything at this presentation and now associate it with a lot of good feelings and fun! As far as I know, Tim usually shows his mainline and inserts some pieces from Redux (his lower-priced line) but this year, he showed only Redux.

I’m going to slowly try to ID all the models and add them into the post.

Beautiful Kendra Spears (Next Models) outside the tents NYFW FW12
Kendra has a great smile and personality. I think she’s got an all-American feel on the outside but then you see her work and how much of a great model she is. I really love her classic look in the Emporio Armani S/S 12 campaign (click to see) but especially in the “Two for the Road” editorial by Will Davidson in the September 2011 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Australia with Karlie Kloss on the cover. See the story here. I’m so glad I have a copy of the magazine! I think she exudes a versatile, timeless beauty here. She’s also got a sleek, sexy side to her recent editorial "Autofocus" by Rene Habermacher in Numero May 2012. Kendra has the personality and the looks and I’m sure she’s here to stay. She recently walked the Chanel Cruise Versailles 2013 show and I can’t wait to see what she walks in the couture weeks coming up. Follow Kendra on Twitter @Kendra_Spears and visit Next’s here.

The coolest old lady teaching the boys how to walk at General Idea FW12

The coolest old lady teaching the boys how to walk at General Idea FW12

Here are some photos from designer Bumsuk Choi’s General Idea Fall/Winter 2012 “After Games” collection shown back at New York Fashion Week in February.

I definitely felt a sense of “cool” with this collection. It’s probably because I heard the soundtrack, “Container Park” by The Chemical Brothers a million times during the rehearsal before the show (the woman who was teaching the boys was hilarious!)

The collection was very strong and you could hear it from the heavy beat of the music. I liked the way the show opened with the first model appearing from the dark in a triangle - the strong logo shape of General Idea. I really like how Bumsuk focuses on bright colors and shapes. His collection reminded me of childhood a bit. He utilized the classical sporty masculine silhouette and subtly made it different by adding various colors and small panels. As I look back, I see some greater details in the cuffs and different sections of the clothing. I really felt a sense of playful balance in this collection. I’m going try and incorporate some of his coloring and layering into my wardrobe this fall. I really want some of his pants, especially the ones with knee patches - I think they would look good on anyone! I know “cool” isn’t a very good adjective but Bumsuk successfully made me want to buy and wear the clothes and walk with the swagger like the boys. He seems to have a different direction every season and is very good at being consistent. I definitely felt as if I could walk of the show and go snowboarding with the boys.

You can see a video of the show on General Idea’s website here.

An old NYFW FW12 photo of mine is up for the New York Times’s Bomber & Varsity Jacket Street Style slideshow

Also, I’m starting off my weekend with the April 2012 issue of Vogue Russia (my first Vogue Russia!) with Daphne Groeneveld on the cover shot by Hedi Slimane and style by Sarah Richardon (so many Richardson’s and Alasdair’s in this industry) as well as May 2012 British Vogue with Charlize Theron on the cover. I wish I could have the supplemental cover with Nyasha Matonhodze but the stories this story with Karlie Kloss by Angelo Pennetta “Rave New World” with Karmen Pedaru by Alasdair McLellan will do! Also bought Vogue Japan (another first) August 2011 with Daphne (Mario Sorrenti/George Cortina) on the cover the other day.
I guess a lot of “fashion bloggers” like to show off what they wear each day. I just try not to look too much like I just rolled out of bed and show off all the magazines I compulsively buy.
When you see someone on the street living in a fort made of of Vogues — it’s me.

Outside of Alexander Wang FW12. A lot of people took her photograph. She was identified in one of the blogs, I forget her name but she is a new stylist or editor from China or something along the lines of that. She is so well put together without trying to hard - perfectly chic. I saw her in Soho the other day!
Update it’s Mega Meng Meng. Thanks.
