The shoot was styled by Mayte Allende and the makeup was by Tiffany Patton.
Thanks so much Refinery29!
A very cool and colorful ’90s loose sporty prep look I shot on the Daily Details Blog today.

Company Girl: Yara Flinn, of Nomia
Meet Yara Flinn, a designer for her own line called Nomia. A lover of music, she told Rolling Stone she listened to Grimes, A.R & Machines, Elite Gymnastics, Burial and Zomby for a little inspiration while creating her 2012 collection. The Inside Source caught up with Yara on a post-winter day with the new sun just to snap her outfit of the day.

Street Style: What to Wear With Nike Flyknits
I have been hoping to photograph men in cool sneakers like Nike Flynknits or Weaves (I see Tommy Ton wear them, hehe) lately and I’m so glad I bumped into Justin Keller, wholesale manager at Shipley & Halmos on lunch break. I was hoping I’d bump into some of the employees at S&H because they’re based in Soho, New York, I’ve shot designer Sam Shipley before, and I hear about them all the time. “East Coast meets West Coast” is a great way to describe them - super wearable, and quirky, simple, but fun to me. I love it. Anyway, I love that Justin isn’t wearing the neon colors like other guys do. White pops but isn’t too ostentatious. I did photograph another guy in the neon green/yellow ones though (and I saw another guy who was a bit of a rush — or rude?). Anyway Justin is super nice and talkable. His cuffed denim is sweet along with his super button-y Paul Smith jacket. That hair too. Thanks Justin. Click the link above to see the details on what he is wearing. Love his Rolex Datejust (I believe from his father). He’s working the man jewelry/bracelets too. Sometimes I photograph employees at Marc Jacobs and they happen to be decked out in Marc Jacobs. They look great. But it’s nice to see people who work at a fashion line wearing various brands, too : )
Check out Shipley & Halmos.
Have a great weekend!

Virginia Craddock, owner of the cool Lower East Side boutique International Playground today in Soho (Spring and Lafayette). Click the link to visit their online store. They carry a lot of cool and unique brands.
Virginia told me took a risk with her outfit today. Of course she did. But I love it! Her lovely loose red floral vintage pants caught my eye from across the street. I love the street. It means so many things to me - passion, love, lust, anger, intensity, fierceness - it’s such a powerful and strong color to me. I love it.
I really love her statement scarf and gloves as well - the scarf adds another piece to her “top.” I saw her several times throughout Soho later - it was hard to not catch her (in a good way!) It’s quite cold in New York City right now but I think Virginia looks amazing! Definitely amazing style and personality!
PS: Most everything she is wearing is vintage or from her store.
Thanks,
Melodie

Love the color and pattern of her dress. It is from Urban Outfitters so I wonder what hte original inspiration/print is! She is glowing!
K spotted me in Fab Sugar!
(Photo by Melodie Jeng, who I had bumped into that day while coming out of a long meeting at work. I had actually bought that necklace on the street on my way to my first meeting that morning because the one I had put on had broke!)
Cool. Thanks for the post and notifying me, Lucie. Who would have known when they posted it : ) I shot Lucie a little while ago here as well. I was on a street style shooting spree that day for Fab Sugar and Lucie just suddenly appeared. I had to take her photo. I like stories about people’s days and outfits like above.
Anyway, check out the other summer fashion photos I took for Fab Sugar here:
#4 (Ylenia, an art student from Italy interning in NYC), #11 (Rachel, visiting from Canada), #18 (Liz), #21 (Katherine), #22 (Lucie), #25 (Ashika - Vogue India cover girl :) )
I was so tired before this post now I have to post it everywhere and send everyone their links. Oh boy. I’m sure I will see many typos in the morning.
