FW Style: Ulyana Sergeenko
Last fall, The Inside Source visited Russia and fell in love with the style of Ulyana Sergeenko, a global fashion icon. Here’s Ulyana in New York last week visiting the city to attend New York Fashion Week.

Photographer Brooke Coffey. Check out her work. It’s amazing.
I saw Brooke from across the street walking across Soho. Army jackets, white lace dresses, short leather boots also do the trick for me. I think it’s super versatile but perfect for the weekend. This outfit really represents what people are wearing now without following a particular time-limited trend.
Jacket- Wolford
Dress: All That Remains (Australian)
Shoes: Steve Madden
Thank You!
I heard Garance Dore speak today at F.I.T.’s Places and Faces in Fashion course which is open to the public.
I then saw Tommy Ton of Jak and Jil blog speak with Josh Peskowitz of Park and Bond at the temporary Apple store in Soho!
I found out about both events through Twitter! (follow me!) and I think I discovered both blogs while interning at Vogue. If not, I know that’s when I started following them.
Today was a nice inspiring today. There were a ton of bloggers at the Apple event which was crazy. Being put in a room with tons of other people aspiring similar things like you whether they are bloggers or students really puts things and perspective. I learned more from Garance’s speech because it was more about the way she works and how to run a successful blog versus Tommy’s talk which was more about how he shoots and fashion. (He shoots on automatic, oy! His photos are good and he gets his point across which is what matters). The thing I got most out of the talks is that I have to form my own point of view. I’ve know this for a while but I’m really going to try and figure it out. I suppose what is more natural is to just document what I see, how I experience them, and add some stories about what it’s like to be a young working photographer/blogger/person in fashion in New York document the journey.
I think I’m going to start profiling models when I shoot them. I have some other ideas too but I guess I’ll keep those to myself : ) I’m also going to move to melodiejeng.com soon and then wordpress. I will miss the instant gratification of “likes” and “reblogs” but I’d like to have more comments and I’m sure there is a way to important Wordpress to Tumblr. I’m also going to work on my website, I want to add more information but still keep it clean and add more design elements. I’d like to organize it more, I really like www.citizencouture.com and horizontal scrolling.
NYFW preparation is great, I’m so thankful for everything I have, and I can’t believe how this is just one season of the year and one of the four major cities of fashion weeks. Let’s go!
