Alessandra Codinha (Women’s Wear Daily) on the Bowery NYFW Day 4 (Sorry for catching you off guard! You looked too good!)
I saw so much fur this season on and off the runway. This one is vintage and that collar makes it WORK. Also check out the amazing detail in her heels and accessories!
You can see more of Alessandra in Garance Dore’s new series “Pardon My French” Episde 2 here. She’s also a Sartorialist veteran with a diverse palette. Glad I got to shoot her away from the tents!
PS: Here is a similar coat but in a fashion-don’t way. What is this pattern called?

Another one from FW (a good one… I know this is all quite basic but this is how I learn!)

Frida Gustavsson (IMG Models) on West 13th Street
Frida is 18 years old and from Stockholm, Sweden. She’s currently #20 on models.com but I’m sure she will rise! She is currently in the SS12 Mulberry campaign with Lindsey Wixson (Marilyn). The campaign is very colorful (pastels?) and I like the two young faces together. I tend to like baby-faced models.
She is quite tall (180-184 cm / 5’11”-6’?) and I was instantly reminded me of how she she towered (in a good way!) in the Christian Dior SS12 Haute Couture show. Her gown’s pattern wasn’t one of my favorites but I’m sure it will grow on me. I do like the shape of the Dior gowns, only tall models could pull it off.
On the more commercial side, Frida is the face for her home country’s H&M Summer 2012 collection. Remember how I mentioned she and Caroline Brasch Nielsen (Marilyn, my go-see photo of her jumping here!) are in the H&M Fall 2011 Consious Campaign together as well? You can see it here. I’m so glad and thankful that I’m seeing a lot of my favorite models over and over again and often working together! Small fashion world!
Last year Frida was a street style star utside of Valentino. Everyone loved her outfit. See one version here on Gastro Chic.
Frida has tons of other work out right now. Check out her models.com page, Fashion Gone Rogue and this fan site for more detailed information.
Last notes: Frida was wearing a Swedish Fjallraven book bag, it was quite cold that day, and she is very nice and polite.
Model Monday!
雎晓雯 (Xiao Wen Ju, IMG Models) on Rivington today.

Check out her friend who designs Baby Ghost
I wanna be her friend! I got to practice Chinese today! And run into a lot of moving cars, people, and trash cans! But it’s alllll worth it : )

Bumped into Carey again today on my way home because I forgot my wallet! I first photographed him at the Mad Decent Block Party over the summer, you can see that photo here. Carey studies Film at Hunter College and has previously studied German. He’s particularly into French New Wave Film and Italian Cinema. He’s originally from Queens and describes his style as “80’s Black.”
I also forgot my wallet another time during the day and bumped into some models at Silent - I’ll post a photo soon - I also photographed Glenn Close at an event - what an interesting day - I’m thankful. xx
(I also took another 10,000 photos and my camera restarted numbering at 0001! haha!)
The picture that made my day - Gina and Eli at Washington Square Park
Gina lives in Brooklyn and wears whatever is comfortable and good for the day. Her outfit is vintage.
Eli says his style is decadent. He lives close to the park.
@bkflea @grandstbakery
Heather works in the Visual department at Ralph Lauren (mostly the new amazing flagship mansion store at 888 Madison Avenue)
Bag - Ralph Lauren
Top - Neal Mello from The Bakery vintage store in Brooklyn.
Not sure about the hat and jeans but probably also vintage.
She is inspired by vintage clothing, ethnic pieces. Her style icons are Erin Wasson, Janice Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix.
Isobel from Sydney, Australia
@bkflea I met so many international people at Williamsburg Flea, it was amazing.
Bag from Brisbane
Shoes from Denmark (I think I someone photographed someone wearing the same or similar ones who was Danish.)
Shirt - Vintage Men’s Marni
Kristi just got some vintage 70’s boots from Etsy. Also love her intricate tights and her dress is very her.

Perfect Retro
Just kidding! I still have a few left. They’re just not as jazz-age-ish or I took them for different reasons. Still awesome and beautiful. Didn’t edit as much.
Editing Nike photos right now. On a photography and fashion high! Can’t wait for fashion week too bad I have a little bit of what do you call them? Oh … classes. Whatever.
